The Townhouse is perfect for midsized birds like native yellowheads and hihi, offering them a cozy spot while keeping out larger nest raiders and predators. With a spacious footprint and a 30cm height, there's plenty of room for their nest and chicks to grow while still feeling snug and secure.
Crafted from 18mm raw, rough-sawn macrocarpa, free of glue and toxins, it’s designed to keep nests warm in winter and cool in the summer. The deep roof overhang and our special ‘wings’ protect the entrance from predators and bad weather, making it the perfect safe haven for birds to build their homes.
Built with the same care and local, natural timber as our other nest boxes, it’s a great addition to any garden looking to attract birdlife.

The Townhouse
Our nest boxes are made from natural, rough-sawn macrocarpa timber, so no two are exactly alike. You’ll see unique grain patterns, textures, knots, and color variations that add to their charm. We keep the rough-sawn finish unsanded to a create a natural feel and a cozy spot for the birds. This does mean the surface might feel a bit rough or uneven, but that’s all part of the rustic appeal if you happen to have feathers.
Macrocarpa is super durable outdoors, but over time, it may weather with some surface splits and a shift in color to a beautiful silver-grey. It’s all part of nature doing its thing!
