The Villa shares the same large footprint as the townhouse, with a larger letterbox entrance for larger birds and those who like to feel a bit more breeze in their feathers, whilst giving the depth to keep the weather out and the chicks safe until they are ready to fly on their own.

The Deck is our nesting platform, for birds who like things a bit more open. but can take advantage of a solid platform and a roof to keep out the worst of the weather and shading from the hard sun. A 360 degree lip helps retain the nest and eggs in high winds and tiny chicks that can be bit overadventurous.

Put it in a tree around 5 metres or higher, (please be careful or have a professional help you) and there are a lot of birds that will like their open real estate. Many native birds haven't grown up with climbing mammal predators, so evolved without hiding away in the cavities that make nest boxes to appealing. A stable platform is an ideal start for them to have the highest chances of successful breeding.

Made with the same care and natural, local timber as our enclosed nest boxes, it’s a perfect addition to attract birds to your garden.

Our nestboxes are created using research from ornithologists, universities and conservation centres in Aotearoa and across the world. They are built to create the best chance of a successful nest that's attractive to birds and gives them a safe and cosy space to build, whilst keeping out predators as much as possible. Take a look at the features in a bit more detail here.

Although this box is designed to target a specific group of species, birds just aren't as reliable as we might like them to be and you may find a different bird decides that this should be their home. Whoever turns up, enjoy them, nuture them and feel the excitement when the little ones take their wobbly first flights.

  • Our nestboxes are all crafted from natural, rough-sawn macrocarpa timber. As such, each product may exhibit unique grain patterns, textures, knots, and color variations. These natural characteristics are part of the timber's beauty and are not considered defects. The rough-sawn finish is deliberately left unsanded to preserve the natural appearance and provide an environment more attractive to na. As a result, the surface may be uneven or coarse to the touch.

Macrocarpa is known for its durability in outdoor settings, but exposure to the elements may cause weathering over time, including surface splitting, changes in color, and the surface will naturally become a silver-grey over time.
